We’ve picked our top ten most anticipated UK motoring shows and events of 2013 that we can’t wait to grab a ticket for. There are plenty of other options too, and with many not yet announced it is worth keeping your eyes peeled for the latest announcements, but this crop have definitely whet our motorsport taste buds!

  1. Race Retro
    Date: 22nd-24th February 2013

    Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Race Retro will be chocobloc with motorsport heroes, comp cars and motorcycles as well as hundreds of exhibitors. So head on up (or down!) to Coventry to experience this compact but truly worthwhile show.
  2. Santa Pod Festival of Power

    Fancy an action packed Easter weekend crammed full of drag racing entertainment? Then look no further! As well as being all about the drag racing there are fireworks, evening entertainment (for the hard-core campers) and funfair rides. Sounds like too much fun!
  3. Gaydon spring classic and cream tea run

    The Heritage Motor Centre hosts all sorts of events, but the cream tea in the title of this one really grabbed my eyes. Cars and scones? Er, yes please.
  4. Motorsport at the Palace
    Date: 26th – 27th May

    Say hello to London’s biggest motorsport event! Now in its fourth year the event has proved popular for its narrow, twisty parkland racecourse. Spectators won’t be disappointed as they watch this year’s competitors push themselves to the extreme to get the Fastest Time of the Day.
  5. Cholmondeley Pageant of Power
    Date: 14th – 16th June

    The sixth Cholmondeley Pageant of Power will play to the tune of motoring legends, from the loudest Formula One car to the roar of the Aero Engines. So if you’ve got sensitive ears you might want to pack a pair of ear plugs to drown out the noise! Not satisfied with just cars? There will also be powerboat races and helicopter displays.
  6. Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone
    Date: 28th – 30th June

    Undoubtedly, the highlight of any motorsports enthusiast’s calendar: The Grand Prix at Silverstone. Let’s just all keep our fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain cats and dogs like last year. Not that it put you lot off, 2012 saw record attendance!
  7. Goodwood Moving Motor Show and Festival of Speed
    Date: 4th – 7th July

    The Goodwood Moving Motor Show has fast become an anticipated fixture on the motor show calendar, not least because it precedes the one and only Goodwood Festival of Speed. Together? Motoring heaven!
  8. Silverstone classic
    Date: 26th – 28th July

    This jam packed 3 day weekend of fun is in its 23rd year and proudly holds the title of ‘World’s biggest classic motor racing festival’. With around 1000 race competing in 20 races and 7000 classic cars on display, it’s no surprise why! In addition to all the crazy amounts of cars you’ll find there is also music and entertainment, aerobics displays and a massive retail shopping area. How will you possibly fit it all in?
  9. Salon Prive
    Date: 4th – 6th September

    This is the UK’s premier boutique motoring event which is a hospitality-only event, so if you’re looking for a quieter, more engaging event then this could be the one for you. Offering a look into the very finest, luxurious brands this is this will leave classic car enthusiasts drooling!

10. FIA European Drag Racing Finals Santa Pod
Date: 5th – 8th September

Santa Pod Raceway plays home to the always-exciting European Drag Racing and European Finals. It is arguably one of the tensest and thrilling events of the year as it sees the fastest drag cars and bikes compete for the top spot. So if you want to wrap your peepers around the fastest dragsters in Europe then get yourself a ticket, pronto.

11. Beaulieu International Autojumble
Date: 7th – 8th September

If you’re after a rare part for a classic or piece of priceless motoring memorabilia then this is the motoring event for you. Jam packed with stalls crammed with every kind of motoring related item you could want, this events lives up to its motto: “If you can’t find it at Beaulieu, it doesn’t’ exist!”

12. Goodwood Revival
Date: 13th – 15th September

Yep, that’s right, we’ve carved out a separate space just for the Goodwood Revival. This event allows you to take a step back in time to the nostalgic motoring eras of the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Watch motor sport legends such as Sir Stirling Moss, Richard Attwood, John Surteesand Derek Bell in celebration of flat-out, wheel-to-wheel racing around an untouched classic track. Lovely!
