The Aston Martin DB10

As part of the big announcment of the title and cast for the next Bond film, the filmmakers have also revealed the next Bond car. Continuing their deal with Aston Martin, the next car is the brand new DB10. The car will be appearing in “Spectre”, which will be in cinemas next October.

The ceremony took place at Pinewood Studios as part of the ever increasing trend of turning film and cast announcements into big marketing events. The next Bond film, Spectre, is set to be released in 23rd October 2015. Confirmed returning cast members are Ben Whishaw as “Q”, Ralph Fiennes as “M”, Naomie Harris as “Moneypenny”, and of course Daniel Craig as the man himself.

“Bond, James Bond.”

Joining the cast are Christoph Waltz as the main villain, with Andrew Scott, David Bautista, Monica Belucci and Lea Seydoux also appearing. Filming took place across the UK, Morocco, Rome and Austria.

Still to be announced is the singer of the theme song, with Sam Smith and Lana Del Rey both hotly tipped to be singing over the iconic opening credit sequence. Whoever’s chosen will be hoping to follow in Adele’s footsteps where the British songstress won an Oscar for “Best Song”.

The new car

Continuing their successful relationship, Aston Martin have once again provided the car for the super spy. The car maker weren’t always keen on Bond though, and when the producers of “Goldfinger” came asking to use an Aston Martin DB5 in their film, they were refused. Unperturbed, the filmmakers bought the car themselves for the production, resulting in the start of an iconic relationship. The Aston Martin DB5 is now synonymous with Bond, with sales of Aston Martin’s showing a sharp increase after “Goldfinger”‘s release. The popularity meant that no Bond film would ever have to pay to use a car ever again.

The new car, the Aston Martin DB10, has been designed with the film makers especially for the film. Following up the DB9’s appearance in “Casino Royale” and “Quantum of Solace”, more details of the DB10 will be revealed in the run up to the film’s release.

This is not the only car that Bond will be driving in the new film. If rumours are true, Bond will at one point conduct a high speed chase through the streets of Rome in a little Fiat 500. A far cry from the stylish, luxury cars he is known for, fans have been quick to raise their concern. Luckily for them, the Fiat 500 only makes a cameo appearance, with the Aston Martin DB10 taking centre stage for the majority of the film.
