Alfa Romeo TZ3 Monster Machine in the Pipeline

Alfa Romeo has built some stunningly beautiful cars in their time.  One only has to look at the 4C Concept car they recently revealed at the Geneva Motor Show or the 8C Competizione to see the truth of that statement.

Now and again, however, even the best needs a bit of help.  For Alfa Romeo, that help has just arrived in the form of the Milanese design house Zagato.  For those car credit buyers who are unfamiliar with this company, they were behind such masterpieces as the TZ, the TZ2 and the TZ3 Corsa.

Germany's Autobild newspaper recently reported that Zagato has decided to develop a street version of the mighty TZ3 - which, believe it or not, was a once-off concept car commissioned by a rich Alfa fan.  The car was first seen at the Villa d'Este classic car show in April 2010.

While the TZ3 was built on the Alfa 8C platform, the production car will use a Dodge Viper platform.  This will shed some 500kg off its weight and immediately improve performance.

Car credit buyers will remember that the TZ3 Corsa is powered by a Maserati V8 engine.  The street car, however, will be fitted with the same engine used in the Dodge Viper - a 10 cylinder beast developing 612bhp.  This makes the 420bhp of the concept car suddenly look pale in comparison.

Car credit buyers who want to know more about the price of the new car will have to wait for that information to be revealed, but rest assured, beauty and individuality such as this never come cheap.
