Used car auction proves to be a classic
Oct 10 2008Despite the current economic turmoil, used car buyers remain in the market for classic vehicles, it has been claimed.
A recent sale held by Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions attracted 800 people to the Gartell Light Railway in Yenston, near Wincanton.
Of the cars for sale, a 1937 Aston Martin 15/98 Sports was bought by an investors from the north of England for the princely sum of £55,000.
According to the organisation, the new owners are planning to restore the vehicle to eventually race it at the Classic Le Mans.
The event also saw the sale of an 1980 HONDA Accord for £3,025, a 1972 ALFA ROMEO Giulia Super 1600 Saloon for £7,260 and a 1930 Humber 16/50 Tourer which was purchased for £15,950.
Used car buyers with an eye for classics may be interested in heading down to the company's spring sale which will be held on March 26th 2009.
In August, British car Auctions reported that a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS was sold for £18,425 at one of its classic car events.
