Audi rolls out the R8 GT
Jun 2 2010 AUDI has just declared that the R8 GT would be available and though only about 333 units would be released in the market, it is sure to be snapped up quickly by Audi fans either outright or through Car Finance schemes. This vehicle is lighter but packs more power than its sibling – the R8 V10 Coupe. Other changes comprise of the windscreen made of a much thinner glass, the rear hatch duly fortified with carbon fiber and side blades. The aluminium caps are four kilos lighter and all this has enabled Audi to roll out this limited production model for €193,000.
Engineers have also been able to tweak the ECU to extract better power at 412 kW as compared to the earlier 386 kW. On the exterior side, the things that stand out are the titanium gray struts that are matt finished along with a front grille that is also black matt finished. The carbon side blades and 19-inch wheels indeed lend it an imposing appearance. The interior is typical Audi with all the standard features and a finish reeking of luxury.
