If you ask a number of experts what they consider to be the best car in the world, you will probably come up with a long list of answers.
The well-known UK Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond not too long ago boldly declared that the brand new BMW 320d, carrying the code name F30, was the best car ever manufactured.
This happened during a recent interview with Yahoo Finance. Hammond claimed that the BMW 320d F30 was “the best car ever made” because it was so much fun to drive, its handling was “brilliant,” and among a large number of high-tech gadgets it had an easy-to-use infotainment system.
Hammond is not alone in his verdict. Autocar magazine also called the new BMW 320d F30 the “Best Car in the Real World” in a review last month.
A brief reminder: the latest generation of the BMW 3-Series made its public debut towards the end of 2011.
The 320d is driven by a 2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel motor that pushes out a total of 135 kW. The engine's maximum torque is 380 Nm. The German car manufacturer claims that the 2012 BMW 320d only uses an average of 4.5 litres of fuel per 100 km and that it emits only 120g/km of CO2. The acceleration figures they claim are also impressive: they say the new BMW has a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of only 7.5 seconds and an impressive top speed of 146 kilometres per hour. The starting price of the new model is €35,350.
