The BMW E60 platform replaced the usual BMW E39 platform in the year 2004 for the launch of the 2004-5 BMW series and the initial models that were launched were the 525, 530 and the 545. Each of these models did however get an upgraded engine for the year 2006 and were available on very easy Car Finance terms for the common consumer.
But what stood out with these fifth generation BMW series was the impressive technology and design that these models sported. It was the sedan as well as the Touring that was launched in the year 2004 that actually set the benchmark with regard to safety, fuel efficiency and driver navigation systems. BMW’s famous convex and concave line design language format is also in full flow in these vehicles with the interiors reflecting the functions very clearly.
The BMW fifth generation, besides offering great design and technology has regularly and consistently maintained the lineage of the brand in all the models that it has brought out and in the years 2005 – 2008, this brand and in particular the BMW 5 Series won the best selling car within its segment no less than four times and that was also well reflected in its world wide sales of more than a million cars by 2007.
