French car manufacturer CITROEN has revealed its new electric vehicle has been welcomed by Green Motion, the world's first and only low carbon dioxide car and van hire company.
Citroen has announced that Green Motion is intending to feature the new Citoren C1 ev'ie as part of its fleet of environmentally-friendly vehicles.
The move could boost interest in the manufacturer's green car as well as increase demand for more eco-friendly used cars.
"The ev'ie is the first vehicle of its type to offer a four SEAT carrying capacity and has maintained all the safety features traditionally associated with the Citroen C1," Citroen announced.
It is the first production car that can boast to be 100 per cent emission-free, according to the marque.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to include the new Citroen C1 ev'ie on our fleet," said Green Motion.
The government is hoping to encourage a new wave of green vehicles across the UK and is putting money into a new scheme aimed at promoting the use of electric cars.
Chancellor Alistair Darling announced in his recent Budget speech proposals to fund the development of infrastructure for electric cars.
