Citroen's C1 1.4HDi has achieved a 633-mile journey on just one tank of fuel, it has emerged.
The car manufacturer revealed its model had performed highly in the Fleet World magazine's 2008 ALD Automotive/Total Excellium MPG Marathon.
It managed 84.32 miles to the gallon.
Car loan customers may be interested to hear the vehicle retails at just over £8,500 and is in group one for insurance.
As well as success with the C1 1.14HDi, the CITROEN Nemo performed well and came first in the van category.
"The compact hi-cube van beat all rivals to win Overall Best MPG, successfully taking over the title of the UK's most economical van which the Citroen C2 Enterprise had held since 2006," the car maker added.
Earlier this month, Citroen revealed it is looking at the possibility of manufacturing an "ultra-environmentally friendly vehicle", with a simplified design that will weigh less and have a gentler eco-impact.
