In a move that could see innovative new car finance options, Citroen UK has recently created a new position at its headquarters in Slough with the specific purpose of slashing the lifetime ownership cost of owning a Citroen. The position is aptly titled 'Manager Whole Life Cost'.
The first person to fill this position will be Jason King, who was previously in charge of market intelligence at EurotaxGlass's. He will report to the fleet director of the company, Andy Wade.
King will work closely with key contacts in the industry who are in a position to affect the resale values of Citroen vehicles and the cost of servicing, maintenance and financing of these vehicles. This will include examining different car finance options.
Citroen has already done a lot to lower the long term cost of driving its cars. Examples include its introduction of technologically advanced fully-electric, diesel hybrid and micro hybrid driven cars, and also expanding its range of DS vehicles to include both DS4 and DS5. Part of King's job description is to make sure that major industry influencers are aware of these developments at the company.
In his previous position King built up quite a reputation for being an expert at forecasting the residual value of vehicles, as well as correctly interpreting market trends and the influence they are likely to have on the future sales and resale value of vehicles.
Although King is not an expert in car finance options, it is highly likely that he will also investigate this important aspect of vehicle ownership.
