Top carmakers BMW and FIAT have been presented with prizes in the annual Car Design of the Year Awards.
Car Design News readers, designers and Car Finance customers from around the world voted online in a range of categories and awarded the BMW Concept CS with the Car Design of the Year 2007 - Concept award.
Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Cars director of design, commented: "There was a lot of sweat that went into this design so we were pleased with the very positive reaction to the car, especially that from Car Design News."
Honouring the best car designs that debuted last year, the awards also named the Fiat 500 as the Car Design of the Year 2007 - Production, the second win in a row for the Italian carmaker. Motorists planning to secure Car Credit to purchase a Fiat 500 this year should search for cheap Car Loans online.
The media source received more than 1,000 responses to the online poll from its international readership, which includes a large proportion of car designers, and presented the awards to manufacturer design teams at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month.
Other vehicles commended in the 2007 Car Design News Awards include the MAZDA Taiki and CITROEN C-Cactus concept cars, and the Maserati Gran Turismo and AUDI A5 production vehicles.
