The Uno has been revived and South America will be the market that will receive this revived brand. Given its popularity, it is sure to be received well in this important market for FIAT and the company will be supporting its sales through attractive Car Finance and Car Credit schemes.
Uno in its earlier avatar was a hugely popular brand and had a continuous run of production between 1983 and 1995 till the Punto was introduced in this market. The Uno however was produced by Fiat for other markets and this time around it is hoped that Brazil in particular will continue to remain a big market for the Uno.
The reintroduced Uno bears a different look and is styled to fit into the image of an urban car with emphasis on practicality and compactness. As far as size is concerned, it has dimensions placing it between the Panda and the Grande Punto. This vehicle will go on production at the Betim factory of Fiat in Brazil.
In keeping with the Brazilian market, the Uno will come in two versions of hybrid ethanol/gasoline engines and both will have 5-speed transmission. What’s more, Fiat is also planning an SUV variant to be launched very soon.
