Grande Punto a grand model
Grande Punto a grand model
Feb 19 2008
The FIAT Grande Punto Hatchback is a good-looking but noisy model, a reviewer has claimed.
According to What Car?, the vehicle has plenty of equipment considering the price, which would set Car Loans customers back at least £7,485 should they opt for finance on the model.
The entry level 1.2-litre engine can struggle at times, as can the 1.3-litre diesel, but the 1.4-litre petrol unit performs well.
As well as a noisy engine, sounds creep into the cabin from outside the vehicle and visibility can be compromised by the thick windscreen pillars.
The model did, however, achieve a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, benefiting from being fitted with a driver and passenger airbag and an immobiliser as standard.
Fuel economy is impressive and CO2 emissions are low, with models having low insurance costs too, the reviewer suggests.
The steering wheel and driver's SEAT are adjustable but the pedal area can feel cramped. Interior space is generally good for four people, or five at a push.
Equipment includes a CD player, powered windows and remote central locking.
