Car loans customers could save at Ford
Nov 27 2008Secured Car Loans applicants who are looking to make the most of the chancellor's pre-budget cuts may consider a trip to their local FORD dealership.
After Alistair Darling announced a 2.5 per cent reduction in VAT earlier this week to help boost the economy, the automaker has pledged to pass the full benefit on to its customers.
And while the cut will not take effect until December 1st, Ford has also agreed to action the savings immediately, provided payment and legal transfer occurs on or after the official start date.
This could see unsecured car loans customers making a saving of as much as £350 on a new Ford Focus, with £500 reductions on the Mondeo, S-MAX or Galaxy models.
"We are pleased that the government has taken such decisive action, and we hope the tax reduction will encourage more customers to visit their local Ford dealership," declared Ford chairman and managing director Roelant de Waard.
The chancellor's pre-budget report also announced that plans to increase vehicle excise duty on all cars bought between 2001 and 2006 were to be postponed.
