Fiesta: Recession-proof?
Mar 18 2009Ford's Fiesta vehicle may be recession-proof, it has been suggested, as the car continues to be a best-seller despite the credit crunch.
Car Credit customers may be interested to read that the Orange Cars Channel has named the Fiesta in its top ten list of best-selling cars in Britain since 1965.
Additionally, the vehicle has been shown to be the top selling car so far this year, with car credit customers potentially investing in the seventh generation model launched in 2008.
The car has come second in the best-seller list, beaten only by its older sibling the FORD Escort.
Nigel Sharp, Ford Britain's managing director, said that the latest Fiesta model is a group leader among small cars, with the segment coming into the spotlight of late amid financial turmoil and an increase in environmental awareness.
"New Fiesta's track record speaks for itself: UK's top selling car every month since it went on sale in October and increasing sales year on year," he added.
Earlier this week, Ford launched its Fiesta Van range, which is available with low running costs at under £10,000 per unit.
