Car Loans customers choosing FORD cars may be able to make substantial savings on fuel, according to the findings of its Ford Focus Econetic Smart Driving Challenge.
Organised in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust (EST), the challenge involved 500 drivers taking to the road in low-emission Ford Focus Econetic vehicles.
According to the EST, motorists could save an average of £325 a year by following smart driving advice, while also improving their miles per gallon rate by 33.4 per cent.
Roelant de Waard, chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain, said: "The combination of economical cars driven frugally can have a dramatic impact, as our Ford Focus ECOnetic Smart Driving Challenge has highlighted."
Environmentally-conscious Car Finance holders may be interested to know that Ford has recorded a 42 per cent increase in sales of low-emission cars so far this year.
What Car? magazine recently named the Ford Focus the best used car of 2008, while the Mondeo was ranked highest in its family car category.
