Ford’s encouraging launch of the Shelby GT

Aug 20 2010 The good news is that the Ford 2011Shelby GT 500 is being launched and though the numbers will be restricted to only 5500 to start with, the company will surely think of revving up production looking at the tremendous response the car has already got with dealers running up bookings of over 3300. It is similar to the run that the Ford Fiesta enjoyed during its launch and to that extent; Ford seems to have struck gold with these two models.
The fact that the Fiesta has been available through attractive car finance and car credit schemes and the Shelby too will have the same advantages augurs well for the brand. What has impressed fans, sports car enthusiasts and others about the car is its great power and performance. By limiting the production, Ford has made the car all the more desirable and tempting.
The 5.4 litre V8 engine is much lighter than its earlier version and that helps in getting better fuel economy, power-to-weight ratio and better handling on the road through precision steering control. Other feel good features include lightweight wheels, a much higher axle gear at the rear and a lower height.
