Some teaser images of the new Explorer for the year 2011 has been revealed by FORD on Face book and that has stirred up a controversy. This SUV in the mid-size category bearing comparison to some of the Land ROVER vehicles sports a lot of black plastic near the front bumper as well as the flares. This black plastic cannot be painted and that has not gone down well with the fans. It however is not likely to affect sales as many people would still buy it through the use of Car Finance and Car Credit schemes.
The vehicle also has other changes such as spherical fog lights and headlights as well as side mirrors that have been redesigned. The side panels also appear deeper due to the sculpting effect and the roof rails do their bit by extending all the way till the A-pillars.
The fifth generation vehicle would have the usual two liter EcoBoost engine delivering about 355hp and a torque of 474. It will be revealed to the public in the month of November at the auto show to be held in Los Angeles, but it is also likely that it might make its debut on Face book itself.
