Ford unveils new crossover to car loan customers

May 8 2008

FORD is aiming to build on its impressive recent sales figures with the arrival of a compact 4x4 in showrooms next month.

The manufacturer is lifting the lid on the Kuga, a model it says has the lowest CO2 emissions in its segment, stats which could appeal to car loan customers looking at reducing their carbon footprint.

Profits at Ford could be further strengthened if car loan customers go for the new vehicle, with the manufacturer already having shifted 57,700 cars so far this year.

Ford Britain chairman Roelant de Waard said: "Our successful series of new model launches is continuing with Ford Kuga which delivers style with a green conscience."

Sales figures for the firm so far this year are more than six per cent better than the same period of 2007, with the company's Focus and Mondeo models proving particularly popular.

Green-minded Car Finance customers could also be interested in Ford's claims that its low-CO2 emission models are also making waves.

Ford says in April the increase in registrations of below 120g/km vehicles compared with April 2007 was 1,057.

The Kuga is based on the Ford Focus platform and will feature a two-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel engine.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18585652-ADNFCR
