Ford's Ranger Pick-up is functional and solid with a well-performing 2.5-litre engine, according to a reviewer.
What Car? suggests that the vehicle offers a smooth performance but that the ride can become bouncy at times. The suspension caters better for carrying loads than ensuring the comfort of vehicle occupants.
The engine can become noisy but the cabin contains sounds from the road well and the ride is among the most refined in its class.
Inside, the car is logically laid out and would not appear odd in a family saloon, but space can become an issue.
Safety levels on the base model could also be enhanced, with only two airbags fitted in the front. Higher spec options add more airbags, however.
Kit on the entry level vehicle includes four electric windows, a CD player and air conditioning, while those taking out Car Finance to buy the model may want to take out a little extra as air conditioning is available for an extra £500.
