The finance you need The car you want

Now is a good time to buy a new vehicle as dealers continue to offer "competitive" Car Finance packages, it has been claimed.

Sue Robinson, director of the RMI National Franchised Dealers Association, said that consumers can still find a "great deal" on new cars for sale.

"Following the September plate change, dealers are keen to make sure that consumers get a good deal on a new car," she commented.

Car buyers are likely to be able to find a number of discounts on new vehicles, as well as a range of "bespoke" car finance products to meet their requirements, Ms Robinson added.

According to the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA), the value and volume of car finance agreements for used cars increased by two per cent between January and July 2008.

The FLA reported earlier this month that the motor and consumer finance industry finances almost a third of all car purchases in the UK.
