The finance you need The car you want

Car News

Nov 19 2007

Drivers across the UK will soon be able to receive all their Car Finance documents via email, under new plans which have been announced.

All documents, whether relating to Car Credit or approved Car Loans, will soon by made electronic in an industry-wide effort to speed up delivery of documents and reduce the effect on the environment.

The plans, to be introduced by the Association of British Insurers (ABI), will target motor insurance certificates first, before moving on to other industry papers, which may include van finance documentation.

Justin Jacobs, the ABI's assistant director of property, motor and liability, said: "This announcement will have significant benefits for motorists. Enabling the use of the latest technology will improve customer service and will bring insurance technology into line with other industries."

The ABI represents 94 per cent of the UK's insurance industry.
