British car loan customers are bargain hunters when it comes to getting car insurance, research from one company has found.

Research from Fair Investment Company has found more than 57 per cent of motorists, including Car Finance customers, believe price is the most important factor when it comes to getting cover.

Common extras like breakdown cover are less important with drivers, with only two percent of drivers saying this is a priority.

Fair Investment director James Caldwell said: "I would advise anybody shopping for car insurance to compare deals not just on price but also policy features."

Courtesy cars were also among the most important things consumers look for, while one person also said a lack of overseas call centres was an important factor when they searched for a quote.

To compile the results, the company asked a number of customers what the most important aspects were to them when shopping for car insurance.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18626490-ADNFCR
