The problem is that we just do not know who to call for a discussion and take it forward as most of them seem to be having similar offers with hardly any distinction and you do not want to break away from your existing company unless there is substantial benefit.
Moreover, insurance jargon is quite difficult to understand and the thought of renegotiating with a fresh company can be overwhelming. It is however possible to get the right policy if you spend some time on the exercise and go about it logically.
To start with, identify the big players who can afford the toll free 800 number from the independent ones. These big players do not have a large sales force and believe in contacting the customers directly. They want the customer to contact them either through the 800 number or through the website. They would be able to offer very competitively priced policies if your driving record is good. The only drawback is the service level which may not be as personalised as it is with an agent.
