Dealing with the dealer car sales team

Jul 6 2010 When you step inside a car showroom for a new or used car purchase and are cajoled, hard sold car models by the dealer salesman, you need to remember that they are doing their job and you need to protect your interest by negotiating hard with them without feeling any awkwardness.
Of course, you will be able to do that only if you are well conversant with the different car models and their specifications or at least have a good knowledge about the model you have in mind. In addition to the car model itself, you also need to have a good idea about the different car finance schemes and the way they are tailored so that you can discuss about their feasibility with the salesman once you have selected your car for purchase.
This will indicate to the car salesman that you are no pushover and he will ensure that he provides you with the right information about each model. Nobody want to mess around with somebody who possesses enough working knowledge about a particular thing and you will automatically get that advantage and respect when you go prepared to a car dealer showroom.
