Exotic features at what cost

Aug 10 2010 When you buy that new car, you are already paying a tidy sum for it and when you add some of the features that the dealer cajoles you to go for, the cost goes up substantially. The thrill of buying a new car and loading it with features may be too tempting at that moment, but you need to realistically assess whether you would require all of them at the price quoted by the dealer.
Let us look at a couple of them in detail.
The satellite navigation system is an excellent tool when you are often on the road travelling to different places as part of your job. However, if you are going to be following a regular route to office and back, this may be a feature that is superfluous.
Another feature is that of seats that can be heated or cooled. With heating as well as air conditioning systems working well in most cars, this again may not be worth the expense and will unnecessarily add to your cost.
You need to therefore carefully the utility as well as the benefits of certain features before opting for them.
