Reasons for not seeking help when faced with foreclosure

Apr 27 2010
The threat of foreclosures has been looming large for many individuals who took large loans during the easy credit period. They are now finding it very cumbersome to repay the loans due to job losses, cuts in pay and general sluggishness in the economy.
They are also hesitant to take the help of other finance products like loan modification, which will help them tide over the crisis due to lack of faith and confidence in themselves as well as in the product itself. They are also uncertain as to how to proceed and are unwilling to seek guidance.
The main reasons when one digs deeper are something different. They feel that if they speak to the lender about the problem, the lender will proceed with foreclosure formalities right away. Moreover some are also embarrassed at the fact that they have let the situation deteriorate thus and the loss of jobs has only made it all the more awkward for them.
However, this lack of any action can be detrimental as just doing nothing about the problem is only going to make it worse. They must shake off this apprehension and approach the right people for help in order to hold on to their homes or cars.
