Car Finance customers looking to buy a used car should take a series of steps to ensure that they get the best deal, according to one car magazine.
When conducting a Used Car Search, drivers should be sure to examine some of the key features of the car, according to Auto Express.
At the top of the list consumers are advised to check the documentation of the car, including the Vehicle Identification Number, the MoT serial number and the V5 issue date.
Other important factors to consider is the condition of the tyres and body work, as well as the clutch, which drivers are advised to check to see if it operates smoothly. The brakes, electrics and engine should also be checked and car loan customers should be sure to take a test drive.
"Every used car is someone else's cast-off - you need to find out why," stated John Gregory, RAC technical advisor.
"It might simply be the owner fancying a change, but do your homework and be ready to walk away if something doesn't feel right. Another one will soon turn up."
The RAC also advises car finance customers to check their legal rights when buying a car.
