Motorists are being urged to give their personal finances a spring clean this month as March marks the official start of the season.
Car Credit customers can save on their motoring costs in a variety of ways outlined by car insurer esure.
Among the suggestions made by the firm is for motorists to tell their insurer if they complete fewer miles than the average as this could lower their insurance premiums slightly.
The company also states that drivers should never have an excess so high that they could not af FORD to pay it if they need to make a claim and suggests that adding a spouse to an insurance policy could also help lower costs.
Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at esure car insurance, said: "Now is the perfect time to do some spring cleaning - not just to your home but all aspects of your household finances."
He added that buyers can find a good deal by shopping around, with car credit customers able to drive down their premiums depending on how they pay, who is on the policy and what excess is chosen.
Earlier this month, Mr Pickard urged motorists to turn their mobile phones off while behind the wheel to potentially enhance their safety.
