Unsecured Car Loans customers looking to do their bit for the environment in 2009 are being alerted to the latest offering from smart.
The manufacturer is following up the recent launch of its mhd (micro hybrid drive) model with a new vehicle that offers the lowest carbon dioxide emissions of any vehicle currently on the market.
smart claims to have seen "considerable interest" in the mhd and believes that the new cdi - which is capable of 83.1mpg and emits just 88g/km of carbon dioxide - will help enhance the brand's appeal to Car Finance customers.
Dermot Kelly, managing director at MERCEDES Benz, said: "smart's reputation for affordability and economy is growing and the range is being considered by an increasing number of motorists who are seeking to reduce their motoring costs."
Those who see the firm's latest model as the ideal vehicle to help combat the credit crunch will have to put their buying plans on hold temporarily though, with the cdi not set to hit UK showrooms until March of this year.
Fellow manufacturer CITROEN is also keen to offer drivers the chance to boost their eco credentials in the new year, with the firm set to launch two new Airdream+ versions of its C3 and C4 models that offer improved economy and reduced emissions.
