Classic used cars prove popular

Despite economic conditions appearing to worsen, classic used car enthusiasts continue to flock to auctions, it has been claimed.

British Car Auctions (BCA) recently held a sale at Blackbushe during which an 1968 Aston Martin DBS sold for £18,150 after attracting bids from buyers in Europe and Japan.

A Triumph 2000 Roadster was sold for £9,350, while a Triumph Dolomite 1850 attracted a winning bid of £4,200.

Commenting on the success of the event, Robin Lawton, Classics from BCA manager, said: "Once again we had a good turnout of buyers and we sold 28 cars for a 60 per cent conversion with a number selling for well above their estimate."

In August, a similar event organised by the company attracted several hundred buyers and resulted in the sale of 37 used cars, including a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS for £18,425.

BCA will be hosting its next classic used car event at Blackbushe on Tuesday December 2nd.
