More than 1,000 people turned up to BCA Blackbushe for a used cars auction on Friday January 2nd.
A statement from the auction centre revealed that the bidding for used cars helped start 2009 "with a bang".
The "packed" hall saw buyers, some of whom may have had used Car Loans, competing for the array of vehicles on offer.
BCA Blackbushe claimed that the new year auction was part of the group's Fast-Start campaign, which aims to give its customers a good service.
Communications director for the centre, Tony Gannon, commented: "Our Fast-Start programme ensures we are ready to meet the demands of buyers with a great selection of stock from our corporate sellers on the very first trading day of the year."
At the end of 2008, consumers with older vehicles such as used cars were warned about the effect winter weather can have on their motors.
UK mail order specialist Car Parts Direct said that used cars with weak batteries - many of which will have remained dormant throughout the festive period - would fail to start during the opening week of January.
