Auto-dimming mirror 'may benefit car finance customers.
Sep 22 2008Honda's 2009 Civic is to feature automatic-dimming rear-view mirrors manufactured by Gentex Corporation.
The mirrors are designed to darken in response to glare from the headlights vehicles approaching from the rear.
Car Finance customers planning to buy the new Civic will be able to choose the mirrors as an optional extra on all 2009 Civics in the EU.
Klaus Weibler, managing director of European operations at Gentex, said: "Once motorists are aware of the feature they express very positive attitudes saying it makes for much safer night-time driving and less fatigue."
The company's senior vice-president Enoch Jen claimed the partnership with HONDA in Europe could lead to further deals in other markets where the manufacturer sells its cars.
In related car finance news, Honda recently announced that it would be showcasing anew hybrid concept car at this year's Paris Motor Show.
The Insight family car will go on display before a production version of the vehicles goes on sale next year.
