Celebrities have to show the way

Jul 7 2010
Awareness about carbon footprint and the desperate need for mankind to go slow on carbon emissions as well as decrease usage of finite fossil fuels is gaining a lot of ground and many prominent car brands are doing their best in coming out with better concept cars such as hybrid to make sure that the dependence of fossil fuel is reduced. Toyota, Honda and other big brands have brought out models that combine petrol and diesel with electric power so that there is a visible difference in the amount of fuel used and the positive effects on the environment are very clearly evident to all and sundry.
However, such initiatives by themselves do not normally become popular unless backed by prominent celebrities and icons in the entertainment and sports space. They are the ones who are keenly followed by the public and if they endorse a particular idea or concept, it is sure to be well followed by their fans.
To be fair to them, many of them have indeed indicated their preference for such cars by buying them either outright or by taking help of car finance schemes and that is sure to rub off on their many fans who should take the cue and go for such vehicles.
