Honda stops Civic R sales

Sep 23 2010 It is the end of the road for the Honda Civic R as far as many cities in Europe are concerned with the company deciding it will not go ahead with this model due to non compliance of Euro 5 standards. This will be from the end of this year. That is rather sad because many Honda fans in these cities were looking forward to this model and were all ready to buy it outright or by making use of some car finance schemes.
However, the company would continue sales of this model in other areas which are not that stringent on this regulation.
This model with 8000rpm and 3-door features made its conceptual debut way back in 2006 and it was its very well defined edges along with styling that caught the eye. The production model got unveiled at Paris the same year and it did not feature many changes from the conceptual model.
Honda will now manufacture this only at Swindon and it is natural that the company will not be too keen to up production figures.
