For Sale: One Jaguar XJ 220 Belonging to Flavio Briatore

Many car loan buyers who are also Formula One fans will no doubt be familiar with the name Flavio Briatore, a multi-millionaire who has successfully managed two different racing teams in the Formula One championships.  Most recently he was in charge of the Renault F1 team.

Briatore also added to his riches by successfully building the Billionaire sportswear fashion brand.  He is estimated to have a net worth of well over $200 million dollars.  A guy like this does not need a car loan to buy the car (or cars) of his dreams.

When his car collection becomes a little bit too big to handle, he is likely to sell one or two of the older models to make space for a new addition.  This is the case with his luxury 1990 Jaguar XJ220, which is now up for sale at finestautomotive.com.

The XJ220 is of course not just your average old Jaguar.  Only 350 units of them were ever built.  Until 1994 this was the fastest production car on the road.  Even today, it will kick dust in a few competitors' faces.  With a top speed of 217 miles per hour and a 0 - 60 acceleration figure of 3.8 seconds it is certainly no sluggard.

The XJ220 is powered by a 24-valve V6 engine with twin turbos.  The 3 498cc monster produces 542 horsepower.

No price has been quoted.  Some prospective buyers will probably need quite a hefty car loan though, as when new the XJ 220 carried a price tag of about $600,000.
