If you recently signed up for auto finance on a Jaguar XJ, we have good news for you: the company has announced a couple of option packs for this luxurious and fast model range. The Speed Pack is meant for the supercharged model and overrides the electronic limiter to allow the car to achieve a top speed of 174 miles per hour. The Sport Pack is for those who want to add a couple of visual modifications to their XJ, both in- and outside.
The latter is now on sale across the model range and adds an elongated boot lip spoiler and an aerodynamic splitter below the front bumper. The front grille, side vents and lower air opening also get a glossy black mesh finish. The 20-inch Venom alloy wheels get red brake callipers.
The upgraded front seats get an expanded adjustment range, soft grain leather and heavier bolstering. The look is finished off by carbon fibre trim finish and stainless steel pedals proudly displaying the Jaguar name.
The Sport Pack is available for the 5-litre V8 and the 3-litre V6 petrol and diesel engines, but the Speed Pack can only be added if you are lucky enough to own one of the company's flagship supercharged V8 models pushing out 503bhp.
It neutralises the limiter, enabling the vehicle to reach a top speed of 174mph. The aerodynamic tweaks provided by the Sports Pack obviously also play a major role in this regard.
Jaguar's Chief Engineer of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross, said that the XJ had all the attributes needed from a car with a top speed of 174mph.
