Jaguar XF keeps its value

Jun 5 2009

New research has suggested that the JAGUAR XF will keep its residual value better than its rivals.

According to EurotaxGlass's residual value bible for the car industry, Glass's Guide, the Jaguar model will be worth 18 per cent more than the equivalent AUDI in just one year's time and will remain nine per cent higher in three years' time.

The figures suggest people buying a new car today could benefit from making it a Jaguar because when they come to sell it on it is likely to go for a good price on the used car market.

"A striking new look, luxurious and modern interiors and much improved build quality have all helped to make the XF one of last year's best sellers - and this all has a positive impact on the value predicted for used models on garage forecourts," explained Jason King, head of market intelligence at EurotaxGlass's.

"With the introduction of the excellent new 3.0-litre diesel engine, we predict that residual values will become an even stronger proposition," he added.

The National Motor Museum in Beaulieu is hosting a Jaguar Jamboree day on Sunday July 12th, which will provide an opportunity for fans of Jaguars to see some of the marque's historic and more modern wonders.

Used car fans may well take a trip to the event to see some of the classic cars that will be on show, while owners of Jaguars are invited to bring their vehicles along to take part in the exhibition.
