UK car finance buyers are no doubt aware of the rumours that have been doing the rounds about an upcoming facelift for the Jaguar XF. These rumours have now turned out to be true - pictures of the new XF have been leaked onto various internet websites. The new car will apparently make its debut at the New York Motor Show later this month.
The front end looks very much like that of the bigger Jaguar XJ. The huge wrap-around headlights were dropped in favour of narrower ones similar to what we have seen on the C-XF concept car. To be quite honest, the new XF looks more like UK car finance buyers probably expected it to look before it was originally released in 2007.
The car will be powered by a familiar engine - the same one to be used in the Jaguar XF 2.2D. Fuel consumption is claimed to be 52.3 miles per gallon and CO2 emission levels are at an acceptable 149 grams per kilometre.
This is much better than the 3-litre V6 diesel XF, which only delivers 42 miles to the gallon with emission figures of 179 grams per kilometre. It still lags behind the 520D though, which boasts fuel consumption of 54.3 miles per gallon and CO2 levels of 137 grams per kilometre.
According to Jaguar, UK car finance buyers who drive the new XF should be able to cover 800 miles on a tank of fuel.
The car is expected to appear on showroom floors by September this year.
