Not everyone likes Adam Carolla. There have, in fact, been many rather uncomplimentary remarks made about this controversial television personality and comedian. There is one thing you cannot dispute though – he knows his cars.
So even if you like him about as much as paying your car loan instalment, you will probably be interested to know that the guy is bringing a new car show to the small screen. It is, rather unoriginally, called The Car Show. It debuts on the 13th July and promises to offer a fresh take on the world of motoring quite different from that provided by Top Gear.
Carolla will present the show with the help of two co-presenters: Dan Neil, the Wall Street Journal car journalist who has won a Pulitzer Prize, and Matt Farah.
It might sound preposterous for a start-off to compare itself with an established show like Top Gear – until you remember that Carolla was one of the original presenters of this show before NBC dropped it and it was taken over by the History Channel.
There is an old saying that for every door that closes another one opens. At least for Carolla, it seems, there was another car show behind the second door.
If you like watching Top Gear you might just love Carolla’s new show. Even if you find the man himself an irritating minor celebrity with an inflated ego, his motoring knowledge could just turn you into a regular viewer.
