The finance you need The car you want

Many people believe the state of someone's car says a lot about them as a person, according to new research.

Car loan customers may be interested to learn that a new study conducted by Kwik-Fit revealed 14 million people in Britain think they can tell a lot about a potential partner by the car they drive.

The survey also found 750,000 women chose to go on a date with a man because they approved of his vehicle, while 250,000 turned someone down on the basis that they didn't like his car.

Meanwhile, 330,000 people admitted to staying with a partner because they enjoyed driving their car.

David White, customer services director at Kwik-Fit, warned that the state of a vehicle can affect their love lives.

"Whilst many people strive for a honed appearance to attract the opposite sex, it seems this can often count for little if their car is unreliable and has filthy paintwork, an oil leak and bald tyres," he remarked.

In related news, Sheila's Wheels recently reported that women's cars are becoming "an extension of their homes" and now contain many personal items that "belong in a wardrobe rather than a foot-well".
