Over 80 per cent of people in the UK will be looking to make a major environmental decision in 2008, with the majority searching for an eco-friendly car, new research suggests.
Due to the popularity of hybrid cars such as the TOYOTA Prius, many Car Finance customers are looking to improve their green credentials, as well as gaining access to cheap Car Loans, by purchasing a more environmentally-friendly vehicle, a study by Saab found.
The survey also found that many Britons indulge in guilty, non-green "sins", with 30 per cent admitting to wasting energy consumption in the home and 28 per cent to cleaning with non-environmentally-friendly products.
Saab's Joe Oliver said: "Thinking of future generations is a valid and very worthy motivation, but the research clearly shows that although British consumers would like to be more environmentally-friendly there is still an educational job to be done."
In related news, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders has called for motor industry bosses to release cheaper eco-friendly vehicle models.
