Celebrities loving the hybrid car

Apr 21 2010 When Toyota introduced the hybrid car, it created great demand for a concept vehicle that touched people’s hearts and especially that of celebrities, who took to it not only to make a fashion and political statement, but also to do their bit towards a greener environment. They of course bought these cars outright and did not have to take car loans.
Honda was not far behind in launching their own two - seater Insight and at 68 miles per gallon, nobody was complaining. The car maker went a step ahead and also launched the Civic Hybrid. However Toyota’s hybrid version with its sophisticated display panels showing the exact fuel consumption caught the eye of many Hollywood celebrities. They liked its simplicity and the innovative battery pack used to get recharged every time the car hit the road. This is led by the computer that nestles under the bonnet and it also decides when the car should use electric power and when it should be running on gas.
Further, the engine gets turned off automatically when the car stops leading to further savings in fuel and power that would otherwise get trapped in the batteries only to get wasted. The Toyota Prius also runs quite silently due to the electric motor.
