Ford Fusion Hybrid’s unique marketing effort

Many companies have repeatedly used savvy marketing techniques to promote their brand and have been successful. In the fiercely competitive auto industry, marketing strategies do play a very important role in fostering brand recall and it is no wonder that auto companies use this tool to announce new launches, Car Finance schemes or even counter competitive activity.

FORD is doing everything it can to stay ahead in the race and its latest marketing blitz to promote its 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is one more example of how it is using innovative techniques to counter GM’s own marketing initiative recently.

Ford roped in the comedian Mark Malkoff for a twenty eight day road show and its main aim was to accentuate the wonderful fuel efficiency of the Fusion Hybrid. The idea is a unique one in which the comedian would try to convince as many mayors as possible to make use of the Ford SYNC system to keep his fans posted about the progress he is making on convincing them to part with their keys of their cities. This idea was mooted by the comedian himself and the company just thought that it was a novel idea and something that had never been tried before.
