Jay Leno’s green car challenge

The accent on conserving fuel and the call for a greener environment has never been more strident as more and more countries are realising the dangers of depleting fossil fuel levels. The onus has been squarely placed on car companies to come out with engines that support a cleaner and greener atmosphere and it is to be said to their credit that they have been very responsive to this need.

Companies like FORD and TOYOTA have come out with wonderfully fuel efficient models which they have sold in the market place with the help of customer friendly Car Finance and Car Credit schemes. Many celebrities have also played their part in promoting such concept cars.

The latest celebrity to promote and spread awareness is Jay Leno. He would be using his famous TV show to promote the Ford Focus BEV, where he would be asking celebrities to drive the car on NBC’s driving track. Though electric cars are not expected to be very high on performance, viewers and the participants would be surely in for a surprise as this Focus BEV would be sporting an electric motor designed to deliver 141bhp. In addition, it is also expected to have as much torque as the V6 Mustang.
