The finance you need The car you want

Car Finance customers have been advised not to spend too much time looking in the mirror by one insurance company.

Sheilas' Wheels has conducted research which shows that UK drivers may be taking their eyes off the wheel in order to check themselves out in the mirror.

The average adult stops to look in the mirror 27 times a day, according to the company, with women being the worst offenders.

When it comes to driving, car loan customers, as well as all drivers, may be interested to learn that women use their rear-view mirror to apply make-up, while men use it to check out a woman in the car behind.

Jacky Brown, spokesperson for Sheilas' Wheels, warned against such practices, stating: "When sitting in the drivers seat, it's crucial for all motorists to make sure that their car mirrors are strictly used for driving purposes and not to satisfy their vanity needs - as this lack of concentration can cause a danger not only to themselves, but also other motorists."

Meanwhile, female drivers are said to use their cars as an extension of their home by keeping personal items in them, from books and clothes to toiletries and toys.
