The finance you need The car you want

Car Finance customers could be surprised by a new survey showing more than half of all motorists fear they would fail the practical driving test if made to take it again.

Drivers with Car Loans may have taken part in the poll of 1,000 drivers, which also revealed some cannot correctly identify common signs such as 'no waiting' and 'no overtaking' signs.

Women appear to have the least confidence in themselves, with 59 per cent thinking they would struggle to pass tests again compared to just 46 per cent of men.

Steve Grainger is head of website insurance.co.uk, which released the findings. He said: "Many drivers assume that passing their test is where the learning stops and the open road begins. However, our research shows that bad habits come all too easy.”

The study also revealed driving over 70mph on a motorway is the most common driving error, while driving over 60mph on a dual carriageway is second most common.

A recent survey from the Scottish Government revealed male drivers are twice as likely as females to commit a minor speeding offence and four times more likely to commit a serious one.
