The team at Top Gear may appear to be always having a good time on the show but to think that they are the same even outside it would be a fallacy and would be rather short-sighted. They do have interests beyond cars and Car Finance credit schemes.
James May for instance is fondly referred to as ‘Captain Slow’ in the show but is in fact pretty witty and full of one -liners. This gentleman also has something that distinguishes him from the other co-hosts and that is the honorary doctorate that he earned at Lancaster University.
May had actually graduated from this very University way back in 1985 after taking a degree in music. After two and a half decades, he has made a return to the University to become the proud recipient of his honorary Doctor of Letters diploma and has joined his co-host Jeremy Clarkson, who received his honorary engineering doctorate degree in the year 2005 at Ox FORD Brooks University.
With two out of the three hosts already designated, that leaves only Richard Hammond and till he gets his, it is sure to be mentioned on the show.
