Beckham favourite to buy new £1m Aston
Sep 9 2008LA Galaxy and England footballer David Beckham is the favourite to be the first to buy Aston Martin's new £1 million sports car, it has been reported.
Aston Martin recently unveiled pictures of the One-77, which it claimed is the "ultimate creative interpretation" of the marque.
The seven-litre V12 super car has a carbon fibre chassis and an aluminium body.
Only a handful of the cars are being made available to a "strictly limited number of discerning customers".
According to the Daily Mirror, former Manchester United midfielder Beckham is 9-4 favourite to be the first to buy the car.
Jamiroquai front-man Jay Kay, Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich and Apprentice star Alan Sugar are also in the running.
Of course, 007 is also in the running, with Casino Royale star Daniel Craig 14-1 to buy the new car first.
Aston Martin recently announced it is to revive the Lagonda marquee, which celebrates its centenary next year.
