A former Coronation Street actor has been banned from driving after admitting to drink driving after starring in a pantomime.
Chris Gascoyne - who Car Loans customers may know played Peter Barlow in the popular soap - was disqualified for a year when he admitted to drinking three and a half pints of lager after appearing in pantomime as Captain Hook in Peter Pan in Llandudno.
The Mancunian actor was also fined £500 by magistrates in the Welsh seaside resort. He will attend a drink-drive awareness course which reduces the driving ban to nine months. Mr Gascoyne's Car Finance and Car Credit deals may be affected as a result.
Mr Gascoyne said after the hearing: "I made a mistake. I admitted it then and I admit it now and I got what I expected. I made a stupid mistake and I would never do it again. I'd never drive after even half a pint now."
The actor recently starred in the BBC's New Street Law.
